Lots of questions

Post a new topicby family4 on Thu Dec 11, 2008 10:38 am

My husband's father has passed from Huntington's Disease My husband is 31 and refuses to be tested. We have two boys (2 1/2 and 1 1/2). I was wondering what the youngest age is that you can be tested. I was also wondering if anyone knows if "bun" results have any relation to symptoms of Huntington's Disease I also need advise on handling our situation. We never talk about it. My husband is very positive (which is good) and says he doesn't have it but I always wonder what if. I find myself trying to prepare for bad news. Some of the things I am doing is buying life insurance for my boys and getting a better job incase I have to provide for my family. Another strange thing is my mother-in-law never talks about it either. I feel I have no one to talk to who knows anything about it. Please help.

My daughter was tested at 17 because she was having symptoms already. Normally they won't test until 18 when the patient can give legal consent. Hope that helps.
