Hard on familiesI am a mom of two premie babies, yet I was luck neither one has hydro. Its my husband who has it the found it back in 2000 when he was 28 and in the Marine Corp. Re: Hard on familiesALL I CAN SAY IS GOD BLESS YOU. I ONLY HOPE THAT ONE DAY MY SON WILL MARRY A STRONG WILLED WOMAN LIKE YOU. YOUR HIS SOUL MATE AND HIS PARTNER FOR LIFE, AND THAT IS WHAT MARRIAGE IS ALL ABOUT. STAY STRONG AND I WISH YOU THE BEST.
Re: Hard on familiesMy heart goes out to you and your husband. It must be difficult to get through each day with so many challenges. I, too, was diagnosed with hydrocephalus when I was 39 years old. I have had my shunt for 15 years now, with no problems. I can't imagine what you have been through with so many revisions. I feel so fortunate that I have been able to live my life normally since having the shunt. My most recent health challenge was being diagnosed with anal cancer in June of this year. I don't know why I have been so lucky to get 2 diseases that are so often misunderstood and seem to have a "stigma" attached to them. Neither are easy to talk about.
I wish you and your husband the very best in his ongoing struggle to deal with this disease. I am sorry it has disrupted your life to this degree. May God bless you with the strength to keep going with each new day. Martha
