Hi! I was just recently diagnosed with communicating hydrocephalus and I am seeing a rheumatologist for possible SLE Lupus. I went to my general practitioner after my hands swelled up and became painful and I was running a low grade fever. She ran several tests and my ANA test came back positive for Lupus. I then went to the rheumatologist and got my blood taken for the rest of the tests. Now I'm waiting. In the mean time, I also insisted on getting a CT scan, because my mom passed away at 37 from a brain tumor and I am now 33 years old and a mother of a beautiful 7 year old daughter. I'd like to stick around for a while. Anyway, I was having headaches, dizziness, and vertigo. Obviously the CT scan showed hydrocephalus. I then got an MRI done as well. I have an appointment with a neurologist at Johns Hopkins in October. The waiting is quite painful. It was great to see and read your story, which seems so similar to mine. I was doing research on line to see if there is any link between lupus and hydrocephalus (there appears to be only a few known cases). Again, thank you for your story.
Smiles,
JeanieLou
