congenital hydro

Post a new topicby whitesa6 on Thu Apr 23, 2009 12:19 pm

If they notice on an ultrasound weeks before you're about to give birth that your child has Hydro, can they also tell the cause of it?

I ask this b/c I want to know if they can tell prior to giving birth if the child will have mental retardation as a result of the Hydro or not?

I hear it depends on how "Severe" it is and what "etiologies" it has, or something like that. Can they tell this all before birth?

Thanks in advance.

No, really they can't. With my daughter they told me she'd be dead at birth and if she survived birth she'd remain a vegetable her whole life. She has a brain stem and very little brain matter everything else is fluid. She is very happy and laughs all the time. She was born on feb. 14,2008 and she is now crawlin. I just never gave up on her. Treat ur baby with love and lots of it. Cherish each moment of ur childs precious life and it can be hard but we all get through it.
