hydro and plane tripsDoes anyone know how and if flying in a commercial airplane effects hydrocephalus? I was recently diagnosed but haven't been treated with a shunt because it is not yet known if this is something that i have acquired or if I have had this since birth. I don't have many symptoms as of yet, but want to go to Florida in the near future.
Re: hydro and plane tripsI have had this condition for 14 years and realize that departing on a plane adds pressure to your head which is not pleasant, but bearable. Usually goes away after ten minutes (depending on turbulance of course). Never had problems with descents. You may also suffer from headaches the following day (off and on), but again, nothing serious.
Not flying would be rediculous. Just have a glass of red wine too. That never hurt anyone : )
