IV Lidocanehello
i am new here, but i wanted to share my experience with my lidocane drips. i was bitten by a tick in 1989. i will not go into the whole story here, this isn't the place, but one of the earliest symptoms i had was burning on the soles of my feet. it went from a burning numbing pinpricking feeling to moving up my legs and into my ankles making them ache and hurt constantly. i was not diagnosed with lyme for 5 years, but continued to be diagnosed with periphial neuropathy with no known cause. i worked in the horse business and taught riding lessons and rode all day at one point. it got so bad i had to stop. of course it did not happen over night, but i lost everything. all my riders and horses. thankfully my family owns the farm with our trainer and so i still live here but am no longer very active.the leg pain did the same in my arms, not as bad, but same, and the leg pain was so bad i coudn't sleep at all. even the covers hurt to touch them. some days i couldn't stand socks or shoes touching them at all. i have tried EVERYTHING. many different drugs. I started at a new pain center a few months ago. one of the pain doctors there was highly recommended. He started me on IV Lidocane. You just go to the clinic, it takes about 3 minutes to put it in once they get a vein, then depending on how you react, you lay there for between 15 minutes to an hour and then go home. it is awesome!!!! i still do not really understand it, but all i know is it is the only thing that takes the pain away. it is the only thing that has EVER worked and kept working unlike pills that numb it for a bit and then wear off. besides numbing the nerves inside it does something else to help realign the nerves, i am still learning, but i am so excited that after 18 years something is helping . what little research i have done doesan't seem to show any bad side effects. it is used for some women before labor. also used topically for stiching cuts. i am still trying to figure it all out myself but wondered if anyone has tried it for pain. peace, kathy
