memory, movement problems, or just in my head?Hi,
I just joined but i am concerned about some things I have going on. A few years ago i went to a neurologist with some memory and movement problems. They did a very good workup on me including neurophycological tests, MRI CAT, and tested memory, reflexes, ect and thought i had CBGD or something like it. My MRI showed shrinkage and what they called little scars. My other tests came back supporting their diagnosis. However I was only in my thirties at the time and instead of things getting worse they got better. They then said it was all in my head. Now i know that your mind can play tricks on you but even after living with this now for about 9yrs I cant help but think that somewhere they missed something. I currently have myoclonus, tremors and some memory and attention problems. What I keep going back to is the findings that they first came up with were things that they saw in tests not things I told them. When things got better they redid the tests and said they were all normal. If everything came back normal Why would I still have these problems? I mean I cannot do simple things like figure change or drive a car. I got a copy of my medical records and it even says at one point they were able to "ellicit a Babinski reflex?" How can this be all in my head? And how can I get them to take me serious? Every time I bring it up with a doctor it just reinforces their idea that it is just in my head. So I go on living with it. I am now a 44 yr old female. Sorry if this is a bit drawn out.
Re: memory, movement problems, or just in my head?Hi Ducky duck!
I really do not know much about this topic, however, I have been through hell and back! I have been exposed to methane gas posioning and have seisures, unconsusness, and other symptoms. I do suffer from RSD as it is and through my passing out eposodes I have hit my head numberous times. I have notices (after my family of course) that I am forgeting many things. It is so frustrating as I am only 45 and always have been the breadwinner of the family and now am out of work. I am going for workmans comp as well suing my employer for workmans comp (which is going to be a tough road) as well as going for SSD. I wish you well. I was hoping that there was more info on this forum regarding memory problems. I know my disease has a lot of info. Keep coming back or going to other sights that may pertain to the memory to give you some help and peace of mind. God Bless and you will be in my prayrers! MEG
