Meningitis

I was diagnosed with viral meningitis by a lumbar punch following admission to hospital. it is now 4 weeks on and I am still not recovered. My head feels like it has immense pressure inside. I have a constant rinnging in my ears and can only stand for about 15 minutes before the room spins and I feel dizzy and sick. Does anyone know how long it takes to recover from viral meningitis? I am finding this inactivity so hard as I have 3 young children and an active life to return to. Any other experiences of menigitis recovery would be welcome - along with any advice on what helped and what didn't.
