Anyone Ever Have Misreading of Words (aura-ish,but no headac

Post a new topicby joshmedsker on Thu Feb 07, 2008 2:54 pm

Hi there. I've had migraines for about 6 years, and starting about a year ago I started to get auras. It freaked me out the first time. I thought I was losing my mind. Anyway, I have also been experiencing something else for about the same amount of time (a year and a half) that may or may not be related.

I'll be walking down the street and (for example) I'll see a sign that I've seen many times before (so I know what it says)--and it will say "Ten Percent Refriend" instead of "Ten Percent Refund". That was at Barnes and Noble yesterday. And its not like words are blurring together, its my mind playing a trick on me or something. Its freaking me out.

I have to tell you, though, I've done quite a few hallucinogenic drugs in my time, and I'm not exactly sure what that's done to my brain. I'm not trying to make a joke here.

Any ideas?

Yes, just last week I could not work (I am a medical transcriber) it was like I simply could not say or type the right word.

i've only been researching auras for about a week now, so i dont know if im much help. i have had that happen, and thought "whoa, my eyes are playing tricks on me". i will misread something, or say things backwards and so forth. i have read this can be a type of aura as well. some say an aura can cause us to not be about to write or say or read something correctly. if you havent already, read they posts under different symptoms above. i've never done drugs aside from what i have to, or drank too much, so it shouldnt be that. my doctor thought i had a stroke as he saw me in a real bad aura and sent me to hospital for tests, but it turns out it is just auras, but it scared me to death. good luck with yours.
