Migraines hitting family members within a day or two?

Post a new topicby TaylorAnn450 on Sat Aug 30, 2008 9:51 am

My 18 year old son and I both suffer from migraines. Since my teen years and through menapause, my migraines have diminished in frequency and pain, but my son began to suffer from them around age 12, with the same intensity I had as a teen. We both have migraine with aura, so we are gifted with a warning of onset. My question is this....I have found that if I get one, even if I don't tell me son I have/had one......within 24 to 48 hours, he has one. His are so dibilitating....numbness on one side of his body, vomiting, sensitivity to light, sound, etc....We do live in the same home, but we often do not eat the same, and we don't travel in the same social circles, so our activities are not the same. When I begin to experience the aura, my first thought has become, " Oh no, my son is next...."
Has anyone else noticed the same sort of experience and if so, have you learned what could be the reason?
