Boy do I hope someone can help.....

Post a new topicby UserK7889 on Sun Aug 09, 2009 3:36 am

Hi everyone,

I have got such a long story, I'm going to just basically throw it out as short as possible.

A few years ago, I started having a myriad of problems that started with postural hypotension. There were some heart beat issues, blood pressure yadda yadda. But really the main trouble was my memory. Because I had been diagnosed as a child with ADD and readiagnosed as an adult, the doctor thought we should change medications. I kept searching for the answer to my problems but all the tests kept coming up fine. After about a year of my memory getting worse and worse (the details of which I'll spare you all, I'm sure you know), I forgot to pick my son up from school TWICE. I have three children and I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER forgotten them!!!! But it wasn't just that I 'forgot' him. It was that there wasn't even a presence of him in my thoughts.... that I had anyone TO pick up. If that makes sense.
So back in to the doc I went where she sent me to the neuro. He did an MRI which he said showed seizure activity in my front temporal lobe. (At least I THINK thats where it was) He did an EEG which did show abnormal activity. He then ordered another EEG, which was fine, and another... fine. Then a 24 hour at home EEG..... fine. Now I'm sure I WAS having seizures, but I THINK it was because of the Wellbutrin I was on because once he took me off of it, was when the eeg's were fine. He had also put me on Triliptal which I'm now off since they took a WEEK to refill my prescription. I've been off it now for close to a month, and have been fine.
Something else that had come along with the memory, but is more recent..... like within the last...... well, less than a year... is the twitching. It's not like a muscle spasm, but more like when you're falling asleep and you'll JERK all of a sudden? I do that ALL the time. Mostly when I'm not using a particular muscle. Like when I'm sitting, my legs and feet will do it. If I'm lying down I can feel my whole body doing it. Lately though I've felt my arms do it a little while I'm typing maybe.... like if I go to reach for a higher letter my arm will kind of ZOOM up..... OMG this is so hard to explain. Sometimes, the jerks will almost seem to 'hold' a little longer before the, arm lets say, will 'relax'..... Another thing is that my right hand sucks. Writing is so..... bad. My dexterity sucks and my letters are all over the place. Geez, this is so stinking hard to explain, especially trying to condense it..
Anyhow, I did have a neuropsychologist testing done, and I'm to go in on the 1st for the results.... or reccomendations as she said. I forget what she said about unofficial results except that there was something about comprehension... like she'd read me a short story and by the time she got to the end of it and tried to recount it, most of the story was gone from my memory. The other thing is that my hand..... Well I knew my right hand sucks, but when she tested some key time pinhole test, my left hand was faster than my right (which is my dominant hand) by TWENTY seconds!!!

PLEASE PLLEASE PLEASE if anyone has anything for me, I would SO appreciate some thoughts!!! I know my appt is coming, but until then I'm wondering. Also, it's been SUCH a long journey.... and last... I'd like to know if there is anything I might mention TO the doctor should she say... You're fine, here's some ritalin! Grrrrrr.......

THANKS for reading this far, and thanks in advance for any support!!!!
