twitching toes for over 20 yearsFor approximately 20-25 years, I have had a strange condition in my right foot: specifically, my third, fourth and fifth toes experience spasms or tics virtually non-stop. No more than a couple of minutes will pass without some degree of movement; and often, the movement is continuous for lengthy periods. I can actually feel movement elsewhere in my foot, and even up my leg a bit also, but the movements seem to emanate from the toes themselves. These are not slight tics, but very pronounced movements.
About 18 years ago, I went to see a neurologist, partly because of this and partly because I was then getting some headaches (which later passed). My recollection is that I had an MRI and EEG, but no positive findings were made. I was told I could pursue this at a movement disorder clinic, but because this problem never spread - and was more of an annoyance than anything else - I never bothered to follow up. At this point, the problem still has not spread. I have no evident weakness in the toes or foot, and the problem remains mostly a curiosity and mild irritant. Still, now that we're in the internet age, I thought I'd solicit some help. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
