Diagnosed with MS -

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I've been diagnosed MS based on symptom of numbness in left arm brain MRI results. VEP neuro exam were normal. I recently read an article indicated sensory problems tend to be related to lesions on spinal cord where dizziness / balance would be more related to brain lesions. Do believe numbness could be a symptom related to brain lesions. Thanks r time.

It is good that you are education your self about MS. Sensory symptoms can occur as a result in lesions in the brain. This is in the case of MS, as well as other disorders (such as stroke, tumors etc). Sensory pathways and structures in the brain can be affected by demyelination. Hopefully you are making decision about treatment. I wish you good health.

My neurologist does not believe insurance will cover an ABC med based on the clinical diagnosis. I am fortunate to live in a city with an excellent MS center so I have made an appointment with one of the neurologists for a 2nd opinion. Thanks again.
