Probable MSMy daughter is a 22 year old. Five years ago, it was thought that she had encephalitis. She is still struggling with the pain and other symptoms. She was told that it was a probable ms diagnosis and it could take up to 10 years to properly diagnose it.
Her symptoms were unilateral - now progressed into bilateral. Her left side of her face draws up (involving her eye and lip) then her left arm draws up, fingers curl, her legs get weak, now as I stated she has bilateral involvment. Both arms and fingers will draw up, her toes on both feet curl under, she has spasms in her spine that she says feels like someone wringing out a wet washcloth, shooting pain up and down her spine. She also has spasms in her throat, which causes problems for her to swallow her medications. vision declining - gets worse at times, blurred vision daily chronic pain hesitancy in urination skin sensitivity - sometimes painful to touch (allodynia) MRI - no lesions Spinal Tap - no ogliconal bands present EMG - all 4 limbs normal study CT - spine - normal Is there any other disease or condition that has these symptoms? What other tests are there to help in a diagnosis? Deedlebomb
Re: Probable MSI am very sorry to hear about your daughter.
I can only tell you that they did all those tests on me and that's how they diagonsed me with ms I did have some bands in my spinal tap. I did have a couple of leasions on my brain. My CT was normal. The way I understand MS is that there is no "one test" to diagnose it, they just rule everything else out. Good luck, and I hope you both get some answers soon. Tom
