Suggestions?

Post a new topicby missg1971 on Wed Aug 05, 2009 11:31 pm

I have been feeling worse and worse and the last three four days have been horrible. Just recently I went for my yearly girl exam and I told her I could not take it anymore and wanted her to refere me to a good PC doctor. She said it may be PMDD and give it couple of months and if not I need to get a PC doctor because she really thinks it is Fibromyalgia. I had no idea what this was so I started looking up info on this and some of it sounded like it but I DO NOT have pin point pain. I have all over pain that makes me feel like I am 90 years old! Mostly in my back and arms and legs. I did more research and everytime I look up symptoms I end up at MS! I keep saying to myself no way and it keeps comming up. Now I am putting two and two together. Here is a list of thing that have happened to me that makes me wonder. Mind you I will be 38 in a seven days and have always been a sickling
1. Since a child have had Pneumonia numerous times with very long stays in the hospital and even had scarlett fever due to this.
2. Pains in joints( hands, feet, ect) when young told it was arthritis (Dr. gave me med that almost killed me...they were to strong for a child)
3. I grew up above the Adirondacks
4. When I moved here to CT I started having very severe migraines that I could not move my eyes or head and never found out why..these lasted a couple years. Now I usually feel it coming and take ibuprofen and it will be ok and sometimes just masks it.
5.I have always been very tired even as a child but growing up old school I was not aloud to sleep in had to get up or I was lazy.
6. I found I had Vertigo about the year 2002. I had felt it coming on for a long time before but it got worse over time and it finally got so bad one day that it did not stop and I could not even walk I had to be carried and I was rushed to the Hospital and told it VErtigo It has never gone a way and I can baby it so it does not get worse but when I don't feel well It gets worse and in the dark and when I wake up.
7. I have had many bladder problems as an adult but have not had that for a couple years now.
8. Recently this year all of the sudden I would have to urinate and would almost not make it to the bathroom (a couple of times I didn't) it did concern me but it was embarrassing and all I could think of was OMG I will have to wear diapers. I know it was not an infection because I had those before. It lasted for a couple weeks or more. It finally went away.Once in a while it happens again where all the sudden I have to go RIGHT AWAY!
8.Recently I noticed my vision was bothering meand my eyes hurt and I have always had great vision and bragged about it. Got my glasses found out I was farsighted and have astigmatism(OOPS SPELLING) I have had them for a few months now. Now it has gotton worse and I started crying to my husband because it was so confusing why this happening al the sudden. My vision was not focusing and was far and near with and without my glasses ..nothing was helping. while debating if I should go back to the eye doctor I started to notice all these things that are starting to happen to me and if I should go to a doctor.
Now this week again I ended up very exhausted and had very bad body aching and muscle stiffness in my back legs and arms I could hardly walk and hunched over like and old lady. This has been happening alot recently!!!!! I did not go to work and slept very heavy for a couple days and then when I got up to stay on the couch for the day and try to snap out of it I ended up with a very bad migraine...I ended up in the ER. They ttok blood work (like I always get) and the hooked me up to an Iv because he said I looked dehydrated. They gave me Ativan and Ketoprofen. The blood work theys aid on showed my glucose was low and sent me home with a cup of juice and discharge papers for migraines and Myalgias and I had no fever.
Today/tonight I feel better just alittle back stiffness but when I try to walk my lower legs are very weak feeling and shaking and start to buckle when I try to walk this is starting to scare me!
I finally swallowed my pride and before I all this with hospital happened I made an appointment with an ortho for my back and after the hospital I finally made an appointment with PC doctor but I don't know should I mention that all my findings and symptoms keep bring mr to wonder MS?? Please give me some advise! It is getting so bad that on my days off I can't even go fishing or do anything because it has been kicking my A** and this is not normal I should not feel like I did a marathon when I am just doing regular thing normal people do. WHY am I going down hill like this. I doubt this Fibro like I said I donot have pin point pain...Thank you so much for reading all of this.

I have had a similar experience. It started last year at the chiropractor. He gave me an adjustment and i felt good afterward, later that evening i had tingling up and down my neck and arms and subsequently went to the doctor. He did a x-ray of my neck, it was negative. Then he told me if i still have symptoms to come back. It lasted three weeks! So i went back and he did a MRI, it was negative, but i still had symptoms, for another 4 weeks. Gradually they went away. During all of this i was having multiple bladder infections for no apparent reason, urgency and freqentcy, it didnt make sense. I also had fatigue and depression, which is still ongoing. Everytime i did research on these symptoms it took me right to MS. Currently my numbness and tingling have returned in my arms and hands and im wondering if it could be Ms. My doctor told me it is possibly Chronic Fatigue Sydrome, but i don't think that will cause tingling and such. I feel your pain. i would suggest going to a different doctor and getting a second, even a third opinion.

You need to go to a neurologist. There are a number of tests they do to pin point MS. I know, I have it and so does my daughter. I still work but my daughter can't. Her's is more severe than mine. But that is my suggestion. I had to go to several doctors before I found out the answers. Don't give up. Keep digging.
