Never EndingFor the past 4+ years I have been seeking medical advice for blurred vision, choking when eating, arm and leg weakness, and heat making me feel awful. I was finally diagnosed with MG [myasthenia gravis] 3 weeks ago by a wonderful neurologist. Prior to see him, I was sent to all kinds of specialists, and none of them actually seemed to believe me when I explained what was going on.

Re: Never EndingHi, I will try and keep this brief. I was diagnosed in 2000 at 18. I went into crisis, this is how I was diagnosed. I have had all the sypmtoms and a lot of the meds. I have had the plasma. It's not too bad. They are able to do it in my arms, however not everyone is the same and if the can't do it they will place a line near your upper chest. I had that when I was in crisis. I actually just had 3 treatments of the plasma. For me I lie in a bed they put the IV in both arms and run the machine. Afterwards I usally have to eat and then go to bed. It just wears me out. There has been times that after a treatment I take a nap and then run around later, like going to the mall or somewhere. I have lived with this for 7 years, I am now 25. I was in remission for a while but it's flared up again. Feel free to ask me anything, if I can share my experience to help you in anyway I will.
Re: Never EndingHya,
I read your info, my son who is 21 and was diagnosed a year and half ago. He has had all the medications, ICU twice for the yaer, pneumonia, plasma exchange snd is now due a thymectomy. I am so worried by all he has been through. He has been told he has severe myasthenia. Will the operation, or have you heard will make any difference?? May God bless and keep you safe. Hyacinth
