Myasthenia Gravis

I have MG. It has now progressed to where within the time of one minute (when I am needing my mestinon), I will suddenly freeze in motion (I will stand in one place unable to move yet, I am fully concious or reach for something and be stuck) for a few seconds and after it passes my speech and my muscle control goes. Sometimes my kids actually have to stick mestinon in my mouth because I cant do it at the time.
I am conscious and I know that I am to put my pill in my mouth but my body won't cooperate. After mestinon gets in my mouth it is only within minutes that I am a complete fully functional human being again ready to teach gymnastics! Does any one else experienc the "freeze in motion"?

Also why does sudden loud noises or flashing light make me collapse to the ground for a few seconds?

I have had myasthenia gravis for 19 years. This freeze-in-motion has happened to me twice now in the past month. It never has before. The first time, I just couldn't move my legs. I was able to get the Mestinon from my pocket, take it and recover quickly.

The second time I froze in place, mid-step and arm outreaching. My husband had to stick a Mestinon in my mouth. I recovered quickly, but it certainly was scary not to have any notice whatsoever.

I just searched to see if anyone else had experienced this and found your post. I just made an appointment (10 days from now) with my doctor. Have you found out anything new since you posted this in November?

Hello---sorry---nothing new. The new neurologist I saw does not understand MG, and he said he thought I needed to do some spiritual energy work. I laugh at his lack of expertise, and I let him know that I currently workout, do yoga, pray, meditate, think positively----my only problem is severe allergies, and this motor-nueron condition MG. He had no idea how to help, and no idea about the freeze in motion. I'm guessing that the motor-neurons connect also in the brain and possibly are not connecting like they should w/MG episodes.
