Imuran

Post a new topicby rynoman67 on Thu Aug 27, 2009 12:04 am

I was first diagnosed 12 years ago. I'm now 42 and it's taken this long for me to realize this disease will be with me for the rest of my life. The older I've got, the harder it is for me to do the things I love, i.e. softball, golf, lifting weights. I've always been very active and have a high stressfull career (police officer)!

I was wondering if anyone with MG takes Imuran. I've taken prednison, mestinon, and had the thymectomy years ago. I've recently experienced the MG coming back and have thoughts about taken mestinon again. If I remembered, it worked pretty well!!!

Thanks

I gave up golf because of the double vision...I couldn't figure out where the ball REALLY went...hahah!!! Good thing I can laugh about these things now!!

I am 38 and take the generic (100 mg/daily) for Imuran along with Mestinon (60 mg/5 x daily). My dr does want me off it at some point, but when I took myself off it a few months ago, I had a couple setbacks, so I went back on it. He feels I will probably take Mestinon the rest of my life.

What does your dr say?
