mestinon and heart block

Post a new topicby amm34 on Wed Dec 03, 2008 8:46 pm

So I was recently hospitalized for SOB and basically crisis. I have also been fainting a few times a week for about a month... they noticed that I have complete heart block. The cardiologists attribute this to the mestinon. I have read nothing about this, but they are convinced. I need my Mestinon. Apparently today they spoke to my neurologist about alternative meds or a pacemaker (something I would have refused). Apparently there are alternatives to Mestinon. Does anyone know what they are. I need my Mestinon and have continued it despite physician warnings b/c I can't ftn w/o it. I am anxious to hear what this solution is. Thanks!

My heart stopped during a plasmapheresis and my dr thought it was too much Mestinon. I thought this was odd, too because he'd never seemed concerned before. The cardiologist did say my heart is ok and I'm on a lower dose of Mestinon now, but no other meds were suggested to me.
