MG Therapies - Expensive? It has been suggested my my Gyno that these severe textbook symptoms, which I experienced three years ago, and which have now returned, may be attributed to MG I'd never even heard of the condition before, two lousy [former] neurologists ALSO missed any connection!
I do have RA and I told my wonderful Rheumy what the Gyno thinks, so he got me an appointment with a neurologist he recommended. My GP also says this man is good. Yet, I was too chicken to mention MG to the GP, because he's NOT opened minded. However, he sure respects my Rheumy's opinion. Yes, my son - a med student - says "DROP the GP ASAP and get an Internist!" I know I should do this, but I am sick of relating my symptoms to any new doctor, until I have to. Ok, my question is... what are the usual therapies for MG? How expensive are they? I ask because, for 6 years, my Enbrel use to be $1000.00 for the first month and $300 for 10.5 months! Fortunately I get subsidy now from Enbrel; just recently they've started paying for most of it. Even still, my poor self-employed hubby, while not so healthy himself, is simply reeling over sustaining his chronically ill wife [while keeping the wolf from the door]! It would help to know the $$$ we're up against, yet so soon AGAIN! Warmly, Sharon Anne
