Dealing with NeuropathyIn November of 2007, after obtaining numbness first in my hands, then my legs and feet, I was sent to have a brain, head and neck scan utilizing an MRI The film confirmed that I had a herniated disc in my neck. Re: Dealing with NeuropathyYour story was very interesting. Our body has a way of telling us that something is wrong. One thing I have learnt is sometimes we just need to rest from over work or being over stressed. Hope things work out for you.
As far as my self, I developed swollen, painful hands and red palms about 3 months ago. I do have diabetes however doctors have not said if this is from that. I quit smoking 3 months ago and my doctor put me on 50,000 units of vitamin d for 8 weeks. I thought it may be that so after 4 weeks i stopped the vit d. Gradually the swelling started to go down, however the redness is still on the palms of my hands. One doctor said I have carpal tunnel, but the redness is mostly on the ring finger and the baby finger and over each knuckle and he said that is not from the carpal tunnel. He also said I may have neuropthy. I am told just take an asprin and wear a splint. Wearing the splint does feel better. I would think I should have some physical therapy but it was not mentioned. I guess I will just live with it. Anyone out there have this problem let me know. Thanks From Mass
