Neuropathy

I went to my podiatrist 4 years ago and asked that he not think me crazy when I said that my toes were numb but they hurt so badly at night that I couldn’t sleep. He immediately looked at me and said, “You have neuropathy.” In the intervening time I have tried neurontin, lyrica, and cymbalta (thought I was loosing my mind) and am now on neurontin, 2100 mg per day. karen I was diagnosed with a monoclonal gamopathy of unknown significance in August of 2007 this came about as a result of trying to find the cause of numbness in my lower legs and hands. Have you had a plasma phoresis test done ? Good luck and best of all God Bless I know what you are going thru.

Karen, your story was so helpful to me. I just wandered in here trying to find my neurologist who has recently moved. He has been seeing me for a seizure disorder, however, during the past 8 months I have had been wondering the exact same thing, "How long can one go without sleep?" I have pain in my hands and feet as well that keeps me up most of the night. My doctor has only mentioned nerve damage and prescribed B-12 shots. I haven't been able to see him now for a few months and I'm looking feverishly for a doctor. Thanks for your story. It made me feel as though I'm not as crazy as I've been feeling.
