Hi Amy,

Yes, it can get worse as time wears on. It can also get better in that you will find ways to cope and medicate if necessary. Ist thing is, find a great doctor who you like and really listens to you. If they don't, you may have to catch their coattail and remind them why they went into medicine, or continue your search and go to yet another until you find the right one. Even if they are expensive, it's worth it in the long run. You need someone who understands and is helping you with the problem. I take lots of medication and still have issues with it. I distract myself in a number of ways to put it in the back of my mind. I'm a little crazy, but maybe that helps too. You may even want to explore whether or not you will need something for depression because it tends to crop up on many of us as we try to cope with the daily grind of the pain. It is just something that goes along with the package. Also, find a good friend or someone in a support group or just someone who know that it is not you imagination and it IS a real problem. Good luck and know that you are not alone.
