Help! My dad, 67 years old, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma last year. He was being treated with both Revlimid and Velcaid and was having excellent results until it started causing neuropathy in his feet and legs. He is in constant discomfort, can’t sleep, and is now walking with a cane for balance. His cancer doctor doesn’t seem to be paying the attention to this that it deserves. It would be great if there was a magic cocktail to fix your dad.
I have been on this forum for 2 years and I still have pain, though less severe, from neuropathy.
I have read that for B12 to work you need to get shots. Vitamins are nearly worthless because they only allow about a 1% to get into body.
I take Lyrica, topmax, and tramadol along with other meds that change. The Lyrica seems to be a constant for me but it took a few tries. The first few attempts it made me very drowsy and dumb(er).
It is tough but he's got to stick with it but having other problems along with neuopathy must be especially frustrating.
Try some calf stretches by pushing the feet upwards while extending the leg. Also try stretching the foot muscles.
Try to keep the skin moist with lotion. Something he won't deny so long as someone else is putting it on!
Sometimes thick white socks seem to help out when I'm around the house. Something tells me that the color is not important.

Good luck.
