neuropathy sufferer but noone believes itI am 35 years old and was told by a neurologist 4 years ago that I had neuropathy but then I have been left to get on with it. I have tingling in my hands and feet at sporadic times during the day and wake up with my hands in spasm during the night and first thing in the morning.
I feel like it is getting worse as I get older but no one seems to understand what this is like to live with. Is is normal to have a heaviness in legs and arms with this condition and I feel exhausted after a days work...Read the full article
Re: neuropathy sufferer but noone believes itYes this is normal if you mean by the disease. On the other hand this is not normal. We will not really be able to live a "normal" life. I understand you and relate to you. Noone except my b/f believes me b/c hes there when those pains kick it and im crying all night spasms in my hands and feet and not being able to walk. Its soooo painful I thought i was the only one. Im in soo much pain and sooo depressed I have 2 children and Im 25 I have to fight it for them. So thats my advice to you find something that is most important to you and use that as your strength. I will be here if you want to chat with me and relate stories. Maybe that will help b/c thats what i feel i need also.
Re: neuropathy sufferer but noone believes itWhat you have is normal. What I have seems to be abnormal. I have neuropathy in my right arm and in that limb only. Please feel free to read my two post that I have. Robert
Re: neuropathy sufferer but noone believes itI can tell you that it's normal to feel abnormal with Neuropathy. I started to recently read these personal stories here, and they truly help me to not feel so isolated and alone in my pain. If you mean that no one believes you because you feel that neuropathy pain is just too hard to explain to people or you feel like you are automatically a complainer, which you probably never were before, then perhaps you are believed. If someone has actually told you they don't believe you, well I feel you need some kind of group or visit this site often and talk to the "right" people, those that have experienced the zombie effect of living with no sleep at all. You need support. Also, you mentioned that you were diagnosed, but, have you continued to see a doctor to get medication to comfort your symptoms to some degree? I was diagnosed once too and I did nothing at first due to the fact it was said so matter of factly and I knew nothing of neuropathy at the time. He made it sound like I had hiccups or something of such relevance as that. I can get to sleep, but to remain in that state beyond a whole 20 minute time period is not a reality for me. So, I'm seeing a doctor tomorrow. I hope you've been doing the same and following through. Be positive and God bless you.
