Re: Burning Sensation and severe pain on the feet.Be careful!!!! I also have neuropathy and I also went to Baltimore to see that Dr. It's possible that it's not the same one but I had the surgery (outpatient). If it's the same one it's called nerve decompression surgery. It did help the burning but in the process he undoubtedly clipped a small nerve during the tarsel tunnel release and I immediately had and still have pain in my heal and up the center of my foot. The relief of the burning is great but I'm not sure it would be wise to proceed if it's the same surgery that I had. I'll be watching for your reply.
Re: Burning Sensation and severe pain on the feet.As I sit here and read all of these post...I cry. I have everything mentioned here and am so tired of it all. My family think I am not sick or in pain and ignore me all the time. I can hardly walk anymore cause of pain and numbness. I also have essential tremors and vertigo which keep me on the sofa much of the day. Today my stomach is hurting me so and also feels like i havve an UTI . So today i deal with my bladder, bowels, pain in legs and feet, balance problems, vetigo, chills all the time, vision going crazy and to top it all off, my husbband says he wish I were dead.
My prayers go to each and everyone of you. God bless you all.
Re: Burning Sensation and severe pain on the feet.Hello There ,
Have you tried Bowen therapy or Osteopath treatment's...they both work on the nervous system...easy to entreat noninvasive. Also increase your B12 vitiman....... I am struggling with similar issue.
Re: Burning Sensation and severe pain on the feet.Hello...
I am so sorry to hear of your foot pain. Just as everyone else has said it is Neuropathy. I am amazed that your Doctor has let you suffer for so long. I too suffer from Neuropathy. Mine was caused by nerve damage in my lumbar spine...L4 & L5...I had surgery to place rods and screws on my spine. The surgery caused scar tissue which presses on the nerve that runs down the side of your legs and feet. Several things can cause Neuropathy. Low Vitamin B12 or D....toxins, diabeties. Sometimes the cause is never found. The pain is worse at night. I found if I elevate my legs in bed the pain is less. I just fold up blankets and use pillow to elevate my legs. You can buy a foam rubber wedge that elevates your legs. Have your pc Doctor refer you to a Neurologist who will run tests and do blood work to try and find the cause of your Neuropathy and treat it before the damage becomes permanent like mine. I feel sure that he will start you on Lyrica which is a medicine that is perscribed for nerve pain. It takes a while for it to work sometimes.....if you can take it....I can't. It has a lot of side effects. My pain is in both feet and legs below my knees. The pain is savage and I have suffered 5 years with it. I was on high doses of narcotics to ease the pain. On the 4th. of this month(June) I had a SCS (spinal cord stimulator) implant to mask the pain. It is not a cure. You trade one sensation (pain) for another sensation(tingling). It is a treatment for people who suffer with chronic pain as I do. I am sooooo happy with the stimulator!! For the first time in 5 long painfull years I have my life back!! The stimulator reduced my leg pain by 100% and my savage foot pain by 50%!! Isn't that wonderful?? I still must take narcotics for the break thru foot pain but in much lower doses than I was taking. If the Neurologist can not find the cause of your Neuropathy there is still hope. A spinal cord stimulator is a great treatment for Neuropathy. Please see a Neurologist as soon as you can so you can begin geeting treatment for your pain. Best of luck to you. Please keep us updated on your progress. I do hope my bit of information has helped. May the sun always shine for you. Patsy
Re: Burning Sensation and severe pain on the feet.Hi Promise...
I am happy to hear that your Osteopath is helping you. I, for one, can not be treated thru manipulation because of my spinal fusion. My Neurologist is a Osteopath. A lot of people do not know they are being treated by an Osteopath(a DO). Osteopath's are a minority here in the states but their numbers are growing. For those of you who do not know a Osteopath (a DO) uses a "whole person" approach to treatment through manipulation. A great alternative treatmant and as you say...non invasive. Are you being treated for Neuropathy? Best of luck to you. Patsy
Re: Burning Sensation and severe pain on the feet. You need to try an Ostepath.....they work on the central nervous system through touch...also chrio to release presurre on nervers....exercise your feet ...strech .....flex them...it may hurt..put it will help...
