Neuropathy

My wife has been having "sharp" pains shoot down her leg...mainly at night. She also has LOW flexibility in that same leg. IS this a sign of NEUROPATHY? she has had diabetes since she was 9 and she is now 30. Also, she has spots around her claves and the inside-middle (arch) of her foot that I can barely apply pressure to and if really hurts her?

might be neuropathy it could also be restless leg syndrome, you should have her examined

I suggest that she go to a doctor as soon as possible before it is to late. It can be very dangerous for her being a diabetic. She has to watch it because you lose sensation of her leg.

my mom has neuropathy as a side effect from chemotherapy....takes pain meds... what helps????

re: meds for neuropathy--the first med I took was Neurontin, then switched to Lyrica, I did not tolerate well the side effects of "foginess" and "lack of concentration", so I was switched to Cymbalta very recently. Not sure it is helping greatly for the neuropathy pain, which is chronic. The Lyrica worked pretty well for neuropathy pain, but I did not like the side effects. hope that helps.
