Neuropathy PainI suffer from Neuropathy in my feet. I feel like I am Walking on needles. My feet also get numb. Recently my toes are feeling like needle stabing me. My question to anyone that can answer the question. I need to know if other symptoms of neuropathy in the feet are that the feet hurt all the time and swelling of the feet?
Re: Neuropathy PainHi, I have RSD in my back and lower left leg with foot. I'm in the same position that you are. My foot feels like ants are biting it all the time, I haven't been able to wear socks and shoes for 2yrs now. I also am seeing a change in color in my foot, mostly blues and purples. I've also stated getting really bad joint/nerve pain behind my left knee. It seems like its moving up. I've been real lucky not to have massive swelling but somedays I wished I had the swelling instead of the burning. I don't have any answers for you, but just wanted to tell you that you are not alone. Take care
Re: Neuropathy PainHi,
I've just joined this forum and saw your post. I do have similar pinprick sensations in my feet - I have had a neuropathy in my feet for over 15 years. I have begun to have some pain in my toes, as well as the pinprick sensation showing up in other parts of my body, with some burning sensation added to the mix. But I have never had any swelling. That sounds more like arthritis. And my pain in my toes comes and goes. But neuropathy seems to present itself differently for everyone. Sorry I'm not more helpful, but I thought I'd add what I know.
Re: Neuropathy PainI have Neuropathy in my feet and legs from below my knees. My foot pain is savage and they do swell. The pain in my legs is like I have Ace bandages wrapped around them as tight as they can be wrapped.
On the 4th of this month(June) I had a SCS implant(spinal cord stimulator) to help treat my savage foot and leg pain. You trade one sensation(pain) for another sensation(tingling). It is not a cure but a treatment that works great on leg and foot pain. It(the stimulator) has helped my leg pain by 100% and my savage foot pain by 50%!! Isn't that wonderful?? I almost feel like a normal person again. I say almost coz normal people do not tingle or have a battery in their back that must be recharged every week. LOL I still must take narcotics for the break thru foot pain but in a much lower dose than I was taking. I will take the tingling in my legs to the pain any day!! Best of luck to you. Believe me I know what you are going thru. Sending a hug. Patsy
Re: Neuropathy PainI'm glad you have been able to find some relief, Patsy. To live with such terrible pain would surely make you feel like you're half-living.
I have always been grateful that the symptoms of my neuropathy have been limited to tingling and itching, with a minimum of true pain. As bad as it sometimes gets, I'm very aware that I could have it much worse.
Re: Neuropathy PainHi Docmom...
Thank you for the comment. Yes...these past 5 years have been a nightmare. I saw my pc Doctor last week and a medical school student was working with hem. She ask me what it had been like to suffer such pain and I started to weep.....i just could not talk about it. I felt like a big baby. But you know....I never gave up hope or became depressed and I did manage to keep my sence of humor. Now that I have my life back, thanks to the stimulator,I have no idea how I managed to keep my sanity. Heck...perhaps i am a bit nuts and just don't know it.(LOL) Your condition is not a piece of cake!! It has to drive you mad. Does anything help?? Oh how I hope you will find relief like I have. I wish I could take everyones pain away. Wave a magic wand and "poof" all chronic pain would be gone!! Best of luck to you. Sending you a hug......Hugssssssss Patsy
