neuropathy

Post a new topicby lesliep on Mon Sep 15, 2008 12:55 pm

I am a 53 year old woman , i have had problems with neuropathy for years. the problems began after having 5 surgeries on each foot to remove neuromas. It has gotten to the point now that it has made me miserable. I feel like rubber bands are wrapped around both of my feet and legs and red ants are biting me, I now have vasculitis in both legs they are affected almost to my knees this has caused swelling fever severe tenderness to my skin and permanent discoloration. I have been to many doctors and no one has given me any clear explanations and definate diagnosis. went to the emergency room because the pain in my feetbecameso severe despite having a pain pump and taking hydrocodone for pain mgt. for chronic back and neck problems. At the end of this visit the Dr told me I would probably not be able to walk much longer. I have also been on Lyrica for 3 yrs It doesn't seem to do much good any longer. I have been sent to DR. after Dr. they all seem to pass the buck I would just like to know something. I have heard from people that a sympathechtomy may help. I'm frustrated with non of all the dr,'s I've seen and still feel in the dark don't know how much longer I can stand this . I would feel better if I actually knew wwhat I'm dealing with. Any suggestions on what to ask drs. or any tips on how to ease pain. thanks.
