Re: Partner with Parkinsonshello my name is richard
i am 70 years old and have been medicating for 5 years with generic Sinemet for Parkinsons my doctor told me to have at least 1 - 3 drinks of alcohol every day i am not an alcoholic but i noticed when i skip my nightly drink that i have a lot of trouble sleeping i know you are concerened about your partner as is my partner , we have been togther 47 years as far as i can see, the medication is not being affected by the drinking i am really worried about the future of my Parkinsons and hope that they will come up with a cure in the meantime my partner is very supportive of me and he is a recovering alcoholic ( AA ) 26years i feel that the drinking for me is a kind of crutch to help me mentally get through this i go to the YMCA 3 times a week to do my cardio and lift weights - this is a godsend for me i have more muscles now than i ever did when i was a self employed remodler of homes and apts. please feel free to email me if you want to correspond more thanks for listening -- [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed] -- use parkinsons in the subject line
