angerDoes parkinson's make or cause the person to be very hateful or angry all the time? Also, does anyone else who is related to a parkinson's patient find that they don't want to ar even care to try anything to get better. My dad has had it for about 3 years now and it seems to be progressing very rapidly. He is very hateful with everyone, even his grandson who is only 7 years old and doesn't understand what's going on with grandpa. Personally I don't either.
Re: angerkrn,
i am 59 yrs old and was dx parkinson's 9 yrs ago. carbadopa/levadopa has many of my symptoms under control. you have helped me to realize that i do have an anger problem. some things set me off more than normally.i have two grand-daughters that i treat like little princesses, but i know they have seen that side of me and it hurt to come to understand this problem. i don't go off on everyone and am usually in good spirits. when i do get angry it is with someone i really care for. thank you for opening my eyes! i am really feeling hurt by this and now i can work on it. tomorrow is another day. you and yours are in my prayers. hope it gets better for you. don't want to be a grizzly bear anymore.

Wow! I'm glad to hear from someone, but I'm sorry that it upset you. I didn't mean for this to upset anyone. You were fairly young when you were dx and still are. My dad is 80, and the doctor says adjusting his meds won't do anything. Thanks for responding, I hope all things continue to go well for you and your family. God bless. krn
Re: angerkrn,
i'm sorry if my response upset you. it was not intended to. i was simply trying to say you were helpful in pointing out how my anger was trickling down and affecting loved ones. it gave me something else to work on. i've already made progress and i thank you. we don't work on something until we realize it's broken. grateful in texas.
Re: angerhi krn,
your dad at 80yrs might be experiencing some depression and fear. if so it may be a good idea to address these problems because we have a tendency to express anger when we have these feelings. i have a problem with drs saying it would do no good to try to change meds at his age. they are coming out with alternatives all the time. i sometimes catch depression slipping up on me and when i don't feel like getting out of bed i do something about it immediately before it gets to me. if you think he may be depressed or fearful you might want to mention it to his drs. hope this helps. don't give up. my dad passed last year at 92 and was good to the end.
Re: angerhi gary
we have an appointment with the neurologist this week, and i plan to find out about different meds. he takes metphormen and carbadopa. we haven't seen any improvements since his last visit. but we try to get him to do things for himself, he just gets mad at us. but we're not giving up. it's kind of nice talking to someone who is going through this but i'm sorry that you have parkinsons. you seem like a very strong person and that you have a good family who is there for you. next time, take care. krn
Re: angerkrn,
good to hear from you. i hope you find some answers this week. as far as i'm concerned parkinson's is just part of my life. just another bump in the road. i can handle it. sympathy is something for me to give to other people. i am blessed in so many ways. i know you are going through a lot and your dad is very fortunate to have you. keep doing what you do and the karma truck will be parked at your house. it's just nice to have someone to share with, gary
