on-off

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue May 28, 2002 8:05 am

can the on-off phenomenon be seen in the absence of medication administration or in medication withholding or putting off? or is the on-off phenomenon only present with medication - sinemet and ldopa.
and how do patients presenting like this respond to medication? more erratically?

thanks

Some individuals with PD will have a great deal of variability in their symptoms, whether or not they are being treated with medication. It takes a very careful analysis of teh dose and timing of medications , and often careful serial neurological examinations to figure out what exactly may be causing the problems and what changes in medications are needed to improve things.
