Tremors I saw an endocrinologist last week because I had, several days earlier, suddenly developed tremors as I was falling asleep, which were more pronounced in the morning. They seem to affect my head and chest, and although they do not appear to be worsening, they are not going away. I am 51, have no other symptoms other than a concurrent chnage in my metobolism- am feeling hypoglycemic in the morning, always hungry, rather weak and shakey- but this seems to improve when I eat.
Tests for thyroid, cbc, etc were neg., blood sugar was OK but was advised should do glucose tolerance test next time I have blood work done. I am very physically active and not overweight, but I have a family history of diabetes and had gestational diabetes 15 years ago. The MD said he does not think I have a seroius neurological disease in that I do not exhibit any other symptoms typical of one of these diseases. Does Parkinson's disease ever have this type of onset?
Re: TremorsIt probably would make sense for you to see a neurologist. There are many different causes of tremor, and types of tremor that are bst diagnsoed by taking a very careful history and actual seeing the tremor. The glucose tolerance testing sounds like a good idea, as metabolic abnormalities can cause tremor/shakiness.
