Re: deb’s storyHello Debbie,
I'm so sorry to hear your story. I really feel for ya. I'm 43 years old and have had RSD in my left knee for 9 years now. I consider myself lucky because it hasn't spread and I've had periods of remission. I was diagnosed at 6 months (after being on crutches for 6 months!). I went through 7 lumbar blocks, intense pt, and a lot medications. It went away for 3 years but then came back. Now I am on alot of medications that help - neurotin, effexor, gabapentin and nortriptylne. I took prescription strength Ibuprophen for a long time too but decided it was going to seriously damage my liver. I get regular blood tests and see my pain management dr. I am able to work (desk job). My husband is very understanding. I still have hope of it going away. I have considered a stimulator a few times but am still holding off. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. Take Care and do what you think is best for yourself!
