Re: I want my life backOn Jan 8, 2008 I slipped on the ice and landed on my left knee and knew immediately I had hurt myself badly. A trip to the hospital with x-rays showed nothing broken. Three days later I was still in severe pain and tried to convine two doctors there was something wrong worse than a bruise. The third doctor sent me for an MRI which showed a meniscus tear. Since I was injured at work, I had to wait a month for Workmans Comp to okay surgery which went smoothly. Over the weeks I have been attending physical therapy 3 times a week. While I am making progress I am also suffering from severe muscle cramping and stabbing pain in my left knee and leg. I am using a tens unit to help control the pain and my doctor has put me on percocet and valium for the pain and cramping. The problem is I cannot take the meds at work so am missing more work than I am getting to which has put Workmans Comp and my employer unhappy with me. At my last doctor appointment he made a comment that I may have RDS. Not knowing what that was I researched it on the internet and what I have read seems to fit the bill. Getting other people to understand how I feel is a different matter. I am frusterated and most definately depressed and so tired of living like this. I too want my life back.......I can feel your pain.
