4 months ago i had a cycling accident and suffered a broken hand and dislocated finger. A plaster was put on for 6 weeks together with a finger splint. I broke my wrist in 2002 and after 3 weeks I could feel the burning in my wrist. I was diagnosed with RSD 3 weeks after the cast came off and referred to a doctor who did stellate blocks 3 x week for 2 weeks. I was on pain meds along with others for one and a half years, plus physical therapy. I am happy to say that the RSD went into remission at that time. I have had surgery for cancer since then and the RSD did not come back. I have had it jump from the left hand to the right, but not nearly as strong. It has resurfaced twice and physical therapy did the trick. Since 2002, I have read, on many sites, the problems people with RSD have because they were not diagnosed in time. I feel I was very lucky to have the doctors that I did. I was living in Stuart, Florida at the time. I just want to let you know that it is possible for the RSD to go in remission when found early enough, and yours certainly was. Hopefully, you too will have a doctor that can help you get through this. The best of luck to you.
