My 17 year old daughter has RSDMy daughter was diagnosed with RSD in April 2006. She feel on her knee and had a small scratch. Re: My 17 year old daughter has RSDHi Penny
My now 17 year old daughter also has RSD/CRPS in her left leg since surgery in Nov 2005. She wasn't diagnosed until August 2006. It was in her ankle but now effects her whole left leg. four nerve blocks did not offer any relief, nor did 5 days on a low dose ketamine treatment. She is currently at the royal Children's hospital undertaking a multidisciplinary approach, no meds.Like your daughter she is trying to maintain school attendance with little sleep and constant pain. She was a very keen athlete until this struck. Now she cannot run or jump due to pain. She doesn't have any swelling/sores and so far it hasn't spread to any other part of the body. It is so hard as a parent to watch your child suffer and not to be able to "fix it". The whole family is affected.
Re: My 17 year old daughter has RSDHi,
my name is Quyen and i'm a student from the Occupational Therapy Department of San Jose State University in San Jose, California. I'm looking for a family member or an individual with RSD diagonsis to interview with. My assigment at school is to find out more about the diagnoses itself and how it afffected an individual's occupation, identity, and activities of daily living. I saw your post, and i'm wondering if you would allow me to have a conversation with you about 20 to 40 minutes through phone, in person, or electrically methods such as, email, online chatting. If you are interesting in helping me with my assignment when you have free time please contact me at [moderator note: phone number and e-mail address has been removed] Sincerely, Quyen
