My life has been severely changed.In June 1989 I had a left knee arthroscopic surgery and was put to sleep. When I awoke I had such SEVERE BURNING PAIN in that leg that I could not lower it to the ground. After many months of attempted physical therapy occupational therapy, and every pain reduction treatment there was, my surgeon sent me to a pain clinic located at U Mass Medical Center. Re: My life has been severely changed.Michael, I too have rsd, but NOTHING like you have. My pain is manageable most of the time with meds and ice packs. If you have the financial backing, have you thought about the drug induced comas they do in Germany? I know it is a last resort; but it sounds like you are there. I don't blame you for being rather bitter toward that doctor, she was totally unfeeling. Don't go back to her. You need people who understand your condition and there are caring physicians out there who do. Check into that procedure at the official rsd website at www.rsdsa.org. I think it's under Ketamine treatments; not sure. But, if you go to treatments you will find it. I hope you are able to get help for this horrible condition that makes our lives so hard to deal with.
