Unlike many here, my RSD didn’t occur until recently. My story is long, but I will try to make it as short as I can.
In August, I went to my PCP as I had a pain in my heel, but could not find anything wrong that would cause pain. I basically went because I am flat footed and have diabetes The PCP had x-rays done and they found a heel spur and diagnosed plantars fasciitis. However, the DR that read the x-rays must have seen something, as next thing I knew, I was scheduled for an MRI o...Read the full article

Rebecca, I read your post and my heart goes out to you. I am very new to RSD -- my ortho suspected it 2 weeks after my ankle sprain, but I have gone through weeks and weeks now of some doctors saying I don't have it, to some saying I definitely have it, but still not getting treatment. I had my first pt appt yesterday and it must have triggered the pain as I have been in excruciating pain since the therapy and am sitting here today wondering if I can make it 'til Mon. the 4th, when I have finally have a nerve block scheduled. I called one dr. yesterday, bawling, and begged for the block and was so blessed that they were able to get me scheduled so quickly. What I wanted to tell you was, please know you are not alone. Life is still worth living and it is up to us to find the treatment that works for us and support one another. No one without RSD can understand this pain. But life is a precious gift and I am convinced we can still find joy in it. I have doubted that, too, over the past few weeks, but cling to the knowledge that what I have just expressed about life IS true. Hang in there -- know I understand and I care.
Brenda
