Re: Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), also called complex regiI got RSD in my left foot after a break in my leg which happened at work 1/11/08 and required a plate and seven screws. I have the same pain you have. I have had 12 nerve blocks which did'nt help much. I have until August to decide if I want the Medtronic spinal stimulator. Workman's Comp will pay the 38.000.00 price. You can have a trial first to see if it will help before being implanted. If you have insurance I would suggest you try it. My RSD is very severe. My left foot stays between 4 to 6 degrees colder than my right. I am a strong man at 49 and can take the pain, but when I get older who knows. I think I will try it, the battery is supposed to last 9 years, then have a new one.
Re: Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), also called complex regiDo not remove the foot, it will not help. RSD can travel into the stump, so now you will have RSD and an amputated foot. I have RSD in my left foot, ankle, and leg. Fortunately have not had to use walking aides yet, actually I should I too fall down, just been to stubborn to use them, but see it coming soon as my RSD has had a major flare and am having trouble walking. GOOD LUCK, hey acupuncture really helped me.
