Im so sorry to here about your story I have had RSD (in my right foot and its moving into my ankle and lower leg) for 5 years now and didn't know what it was until July of 07. I west to 4 differant Dr. until I was finally able to find a wonderful Dr. that was able to tell me what I have and treat it. I went thru many breaks and casts before I got to that point. When I found out what I had my Dr. had be start physical therapy which didn't work, it made it worse and them I went thru 4 series of symithetic blocks which only worked for a very short time (less than a week) once I finally got thru all that my pain was four times worse and I am now doing the implant trial for a week to see if it works. So far I have had almost all of the pain in my foot releived from it and will be scheduling the actuall implant to be done in the next two weeks. I am so sorry you have less luck then I have had with a nerve stimulator, as far as the pain make sure you take the pain meds the Dr. has given you they will give you some relief not a lot but some. Try to avoid the things that agrivate it, I had to avoid high hills ( which I love to wear and tight shoes, running, working out) in order to make it easier for me to handle to pain. There were times that the pain was so bad it would put me in tears and I could not function. I had the sensitivity were you can't touch it so sleeping at night was hard to do just to have sheets on my foot would keep me awake because of the pain.

I know how hard it is, we have differant issues but still the same hang in there try the blocks and see if they work for you some people they work and some they dont. I would try anything if it ment the pain would decrees or go away. Once you can get any of the pain to go away get into some activity and get your foot strong again and that will help with the pain as well. The stronger you are the better you can deal with it. I wish you the best of luck and hang in there I know how hard it is and you can make it.
Best Wishes, Teresa
