RSD?

Post a new topicby livingwith on Mon Aug 24, 2009 12:02 pm

I have been living with pain for the past 2 years. It is in my left hip and left leg. No surgeries have been required for this. Dr. after dr.s have no idea. It is not my back nor is it my hip. 3 injections for my back, injection in my hip, nerve block, spinal stimulator and physical therapy have not helped at all. The mornings are okay for me at times, but as the day goes on, I can barely walk.
The pain is unbearable. I have been walking with a cane but recently when the pain gets so ba...Read the full article

Most Dr's don't even know what it is. I have had it for 6 years and it took just one to listen and send me to a specialist, though there is nothing they can do the fact that someone listens is helpful. Someday they wills stop with the making us think we are crazy but hopefully they will figure it out... Sorry to hear that you are hurting so badly I am there with ya

Your pain sounds just like mine; even in the same leg! I was just diagnosed on October 2, 2009. I was referred to the Pain Management Center at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. Dr. Audell is who I have seen and she has been treating RSD for 21 years. I had a three phase bone scan done. With that done she was able to diagnose RSD. I have only tried treating it with medication and steriod. It didn't work. I now will be starting nerve blocks. Hopefully they work! I hope you will be able to locate a pain management center that specializes in RSD so you can confirm if it is RSD or possibly something else. My guess is it probably is based on the consistencies of your pain with mine.
