still no answers…Hi, I posted back in March, (still wondering) This is another update…as well as looking for some advice from the members as to what I should do next or thoughts and opinions would also be helpful. It may give me some insight as to what is going on with me ankle.

Re: still no answers…Hello,
First of all, I am sorry to hear that you are suffering from these symptoms. Unfortunately, many of the symptoms that you have described could lead one to believe that you are suffering from RSD. You said you don't remember hurting your ankle. In many cases, there is no injury just prior to the onset of RSD. In my case, I woke up on Monday, September 1, 2003 with severe pain in my right hand. Not only was the pain excruciating, but my hand was extremely swollen, bent, and very stiff. I had no idea what was wrong with me. I had not been injured just prior to the onset of these symptoms. RSD is an extremely mysterious disease, and in many instances, it is extremely difficult to correctly diagnose. Not being injured prior to onset, makes it even more difficult to correctly diagnose this condition. Unfortunately, many doctors are not well informed when it pertains to RSD. I would suggest that you be seen by a neurologist that specializes in the treatment of RSD as soon as possible. There are specific tests that can be done to determine whether or not you are actually suffering from this condition. Early diagnosis, as well as early treatment, are extremely important after it has been confirmed that one is suffering from RSD. Nerve blocks are usually the first type of treatment used to help to control the pain caused by RSD, as well as possibly causing the RSD to go into remission even if only for a period of time. Have you been diagnosed yet? If not, please don't waste any more time. Time is of the essence! If you are not comfortable with the treatment you are receiving from a Dr., Please get a second or even third opinion if you have to. If you have any questions, please post them. I'm sure that someone from this forum will be able to further assist you. I wish you the best. Bussey
