The doctors act like it magically disappeared!Seven years ago I had an achillies tendon repair and suffered horribly afterward. I developed RSD in that foot/leg and it spread to the other leg/foot also. I have had to switch doctors due to insurance many times in the past several years and now my doctors don’t want to acknowledge that I still have RSD They believe I did, but don’t think I still do. I still have so much problems, burning, swelling, sensitivity etc. How can I get them to address this issue and take it seriou...Read the full article
Re: The doctors act like it magically disappeared!I had a tragic accident 9 months ago, but just discovered through yet another new (and wonderful) doctor that I probably have RSD. This was news to me, but now it all makes sense after reading about it thoroughly.
I feel for you, but encourage you to "find" the doctor who fits you, for that is exactly what I had to do. You don't want to put down the other doctors to the one you are "interviewing"....but you need to have a set of your own records (I had to pay for mine)...but then the "new" doctors are invited to make copies of my records if they would like them. Like I said, it took a while for me to find someone who listened to me regarding my pain, but thank God I found someone, and he explained the symptoms of RSD and I broke down crying, because the other doctors made me feel as though it was all in my head. Good luck in your search, but don't give up! ~ Kim
Re: The doctors act like it magically disappeared!kim if you tell the doctors office that youneed a copy of your records for another dotor or for an attorney they usually do not charge you. i have done that many times. i suggest that you get a copy from your present doctor about every six months, the last six months worth. that way they do not get upset for having to give you a bunch at once. that is when they usually want to charge you. i have a file cabinet full of my records.
best of luck, kelly p
