2 questions - RSD and migranes-SOS

Post a new topicby meglaser on Sun Aug 09, 2009 6:00 am

1)Does anyone suffer migranes with their RSD? I originally was chalking it up to my concusion back in April, however they come on the opposite side of my head. Of course they run right down to my shoulder with the RSD and now i am wondering if maybe just maybe that is what is triggering the headaches as the headaches are bad when the rsd is bad.

2)now this is the strange thing! My right foot (which i did not think had the disease) burns horribly for a few seconds right before my headaches spike to their worst - I went 5 day with cluster migranes and by day three is when i put it together, ijust kept thinking I didn't know I had RSD in my foot - well my foot has not burned since.

Mainly does anyone suffer migranes and do they get signals from their RSD?

Good morning Meglaser. My migraines started when I was ten. I haven't had a full blowner,
sinse I contracted RSD. Knocking on wood. Have had some wicked headaches though.
The worst of those, were when I tried Alpha-stim. It supposed to help BOTH. Migraines and RSD.
Target the thalamus and hypothalamus, via the earlobes. Made my headaches so bad. If the machine tells my shoulder to relax, and my shoulder doesn't, trouble happens. Have you tried progressive
relaxation? Tighten your shoulders for a few, then relax them. Maybe after thirty attempts, it could accidently relax with the rest of the muscles.
My burning is more like ripples on a pond. After a spook, it burns on top of foot, then moves to the inside ankle area. Then I get the stabs. From there it moves up. If I stand too long, the whole leg
swells up. Then is all on fire. I hope you can find some relief.

I actually see 2 neuro's the first I have been with and went over and above for me at the hospital and says he will do what ever it takes for me to get on to disability as he feels it is time - he is excellent with the spine and the brain- with the gas poisoning i am experienceing short term memory loses. for instance this is the 2nd time i posted this. I realized this when i was flipping through, however, the second neuro is known to be a rsd specialist - the second week my headaches started i c alled their office (Mind u i only saw the doc 1 time) and the other RSD specialist got back to me and called something in which calmed both the rsd and the headach(headache rightside rsd in shoulder rigjt side( horrible - I wanted my head to come off. However my doc put me on a med that also is suppose to treat both migranes and rsd and with my fingers crossed I hope Tey donot come back - although i feel one coming on now - should be a small 1 that i can handle - thanks for the info an thanks for lending me your ear!
