Free from religion -just support

Post a new topicby dennyfan on Thu Mar 27, 2008 10:35 am

I do not want to offend anyone but the other topic has gotten a little to "godly" for me and I am the one starting to get offeneded. So I am starting this topic so I have a place to talk to my friends where I hopefully won't be bombarded with God all the time. I hope we can build each other up and offer support here without always bringing God into the discussion.

Lorie, I havent got the SCS trial yet. It will be in a couple weeks. Why do you think you wont be able to handle it? Do you have any hope that it will help you? I am hopeful that the trial will help but I am scared of it too. I heard it can be a painful process for the trial. You should at least go talk to someone about it maybe. It never hurts to get information. I will look at your pm's later. And answer them : )
love,

Denny,I don't know if i can tolerate the tingling feeling my doctor was talking about.I have to go to a psychiatric doctor first to get check out. It's mandatory before i can get it because my pain doc said some people can't handle the weird feeling.I think it might help me if i can tolerate that.My sister n law said you get use to it after it's in.i hope i do.Talk to ya later,Lorie

Hey Lorie,
The tingling feeling is very pronounced, have you ever used a "tens unit"? the feeling is very much like this, it can be a bit annoying... g0j0g0

Hi again Lorie and Denny,
'Sorry I missed that Denny, but the way I understand the SCS is feeling is more intense but very similar... Also I think you can control the intensity. Thank you I am feeling better, it has been one of those weeks, the sleep hrs. have been hard to come by on top of the discomfort, but such is life with RSD. Carla says hi to you all and she is doing well, she has to be to put up w/me LOL. You all have a great evening, g0j0g0

Gojogo and Lorie, I heard the same thing about the stimulator compared to a tens, that the vibration could be more intense. It makes sense since its under your skin. I liked my tens as far as the way it felt it just didnt help. So that concerns me a little about the SCS trial not working. It will stink to go through all of that for it not to work and its my last hope according to the doc. Only thing left is a pump and I wont do that until I am maxed on meds. I have heard great things from so many people about the SCS that part of me is excited and hopeful. I hope that will wear off on you Lorie . Well better run for now.

Hello all again
I tried the trial for the pump and didn't like it at all. It made my lower torso numb all of the time and created some insecurity in walking, like I needed any help stumbling lol. I was in line for the SCS trial when I had the radio frequency block. This was performed 2/28 and am still waiting on the results. Protocol states that the block takes 4-6 weeks to take affect... Still waiting. Hope this helps G0J0G0
