I found that sunlight and hot weather made things worse during our heat wave last summer. I found that short periods were tolerable and stayed inside when the sun was at the strongest. I wrapped or slid my right arm under something. I can't waer long sleeves or cuffs when this is really bad wo a glove to protect the chaffing. Chaffing causes things to escalate. I also noticed the nerve pathway looked funny where I get the pain and could see it where went up arm if in sunlight. I tan using uvb light and it seems to protect it some.

Keep in mind, that light is an activator, natural or artificial.

Skotw,
I am not sure where you live, but I can see this as a big problem. I was thinking about some sort of cape that you can drape over your shoulders. I know this will not be popular but you have to continue working on desensitation of your arm. For many of us, desesitation is a continous process.

I do not find the sunlight to be a problem but the humidity does cause problems, I noticed it on my trip this summer. Once the humidity levels rose, I had a corresponding rise in pain.
