help with protection from sunlightHello everyone,
I'm wondering if any of you could help me. I cant go out into sunlight without protection over my right arm and wrist. It swells up and hurts even more if i do. just wondering if any of you experience this. is there anything i can do that will protect me without hurting my arm and wrist anymore than it allready does. anything on my skin hurts!! thx for the help!! God Bless!!
Re: help with protection from sunlightI found that sunlight and hot weather made things worse during our heat wave last summer. I found that short periods were tolerable and stayed inside when the sun was at the strongest. I wrapped or slid my right arm under something. I can't waer long sleeves or cuffs when this is really bad wo a glove to protect the chaffing. Chaffing causes things to escalate. I also noticed the nerve pathway looked funny where I get the pain and could see it where went up arm if in sunlight. I tan using uvb light and it seems to protect it some.
Re: help with protection from sunlightSkotw,
I am not sure where you live, but I can see this as a big problem. I was thinking about some sort of cape that you can drape over your shoulders. I know this will not be popular but you have to continue working on desensitation of your arm. For many of us, desesitation is a continous process. I do not find the sunlight to be a problem but the humidity does cause problems, I noticed it on my trip this summer. Once the humidity levels rose, I had a corresponding rise in pain. Reta
