Post a new topicby meglaser on Sun May 31, 2009 1:30 pm

Good afternoon to all!

I am having one of those days today whereas I cannot get up, eat, sleep, and just feel horrible. The rsd has me today and I just do not have any fight in me today. I have six doctor appointments in the next two weeks (of which I am sick of as well)

How does everyone else cope on days like this?!?
Thanks!!

I just take in one thing at a time. I wouldn't even think about six doctors appoinments. only what is going on today, sometimes even only the next hour. This is not easy, believe me, I have three kids. It takes practice. but I would rather be calm, in less pain, and a little irresponsible, than miserable to myself and my children.

HI meglaser,

I'M SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOU'VE HAD ONE OF THOSE DAYS RECENTLY. IT'S IMPORTANT TO TRY NOT TO BECOME FRUSTRATED AND STRESSED OUT. THAT DOESN'T HELP YOU TO FEEL ANY BETTER. CONTINUE TO TAKE YOUR MEDS. SOMETIMES YOU JUST CAN'T WORRY ABOUT NOT HAVING ANY FIGHT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THE FEELING WON'T LAST, AND THAT'S NOTHING TO FEEL GUILTY ABOUT. I WAS TALKING TO A FRIEND THAT ALSO HAS RSD, AND THE FACT THAT WE'RE UNABLE TO SLEEP WHEN THE RSD IS AT ITS WORST. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT IS JUST ANOTHER PART OF SUFFERING FROM RSD! IF YOU FEEL DEBILITATED, WEAK, AND FATIGUED, TRYING TO BE ACTIVE SOMETIMES CAUSES YOU TO FEEL EVEN MORE TERRIBLE. REST AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, AND ALLOW YOUR BODY TO RECOVER.

TAKE CARE, AND GOD BLESS!

Meg,
I hope you are feeling better by now. I too have those days when it is just too much to try and fight. I just go to the recliner with the quilt my Mom made me and try to relax. I try to do something relaxing to me. Sometimes I can take my dogs for a walk outside and that is enough to lift my spirits. I don't know if it is the sunshine or just being outside that helps. Or times, I just watch my latest favorite movie.

Do you have a favorite movie that you can pop in the TV? I think I watched The Kingdom of Heaven 100 times. My latest favorite movie is Oklahoma. I love listening to Gordon McCrae sing and watching all those cowboys dance.

My youngest is 13, so he can fend for himself on these days. He also can heat soup for me because eating soup helps me feel better. Chicken noodle soup was my mother's cure all and it sure helps me too.

On the really bad days, I keep Dramamine close by. The increased pain makes me nauseous and so far Dramamine helps with that without interacting with my other meds.

Thanks all!

I did blow off a few appointments because i knew they would have thrown me in the hospital again as my pressure keeps bottoming out and the i faint. This week it is still doing it but I am holding my own. Howevr my rsd is bad because of the stress of the upcoming law suit and disabiliy. We did go to the shore to see my son perform for the last time in a parade (I have an18 and a 19 year old sons and am very blessed!) Thanks for your support!!

Meg,
Low BP is very dangerous. You need to make sure you don't faint and injury yourself and make your
RSD worse. You might need to have all your meds checked out to make sure that you are properly medication and not under or over medicated. Do you have a home monitoring machine? You could take your BP are regular intervals or when you don't feel well. You might be able to detect a pattern to show the doctor. I would keep notes on the situation.

Take it easy. I hope your stress level evens out soon. I learned the hard way how stress can wreck havoc with your RSD after my husband was laid off from his job and his brother died within a month. Very crazy days.

Hello meglaser,

I am so glad that you have been able to sleep! Have you been able to eat a little bit? I hope so. Have you been passing out very often? You're not at home alone most times are you? I really hope the heart Dr. will be able to help you.

I am glad that you're applying for workman's comp and SSD. I hope all goes well for you.

I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Take care of yourself, and keep in touch. You're always in my prayers!

Thanks I have a script for something close to that for my dizzy days. The days I am sick it is so bad I am doubled over so badly that the last time the hospital needed to give me two shots of delahdit and two bags of something that begins with a z and previcit (which actually does nothing)/ I will try this however at the start (which i think it is starting again as i saw the attorney which means my law suit is about to start - i know i should not feel bad since they put me thru the brinker and back. I just filed for unemployment and will be filing for workmen's comp as per the attorney (prior to June 30 the end of the fiscal year.) I will be in for a long hual since I am such an emotional person and feel bad about everything ( howe ver I still want to go after my primary doctor for mal practice as I am still mad at him and I am not one to hold a grudge, however my hand is still numb since April in addition to me losing my job! Sorry to be winded (Bussey can tell you I always go on and on and I do apologize!!)
