Re: How RSD affects your speechH Bussey,
I am familiar with the problems associated with ones speech while in pain or in a flare up. There is a lot of research that suggests one's ability to annunciate is affected by pain in general. I enclosed a link that suggests this from the prospective of a fibromyalgia sufferer. I will look to see if can locate an article on the brain's ability to bring the words from the thought process to delivery. If the moderators remove the link, do a google search on "speech and chronic pain" and you will find a wealth of info. I can say personaly I find this difficult when the pain is elevated and especially when the pain is flaring above normal levels. Respond here if I can assist you any further and remember this too will pass and the abnormal sense of normallcy will reappear. Many blessings, g0j0g0... www.fibromyalgiasyndrome.co.uk/problems-speech.html

Re: How RSD affects your speechHi Bussey,
I forgot to mention that RSD causes speech problems anyway. It affects the part of the brain that regulates motor skills. Also the flight or fight syndome is affected and this serves to prompt retluar speech patterns. You can google Dr. Hooshmand for a wealth of information on this disease. I don't agree with his thoughts on the use of meds, as he was not a fan of opiates and or anytype of med other than Neurontin. It is known that several types of meds serve to help in regulating the pain associated with RSD. I apologize for not mentioning this earlier, the RSD brain fog was in full force. I pray you are able to get control of your pain and the symptoms in common. Blessings, gojogo.

I am glad that I found this forum in which to communicate with others who understand my struggles and pain. Thank you for lending an ear. As you already know, it is a daily battle to control the pain. However, there are times when the emotional pain and isolation are just as unbearable! I will keep in touch. God Bless!!! Bussey
