Re: new medicationHello Christine,
I am very happy for you! It's nice to read good news on this site. I don't believe you will ever come in contact with one person who suffers from RSD, who has not experienced several of the breakdowns that you described! You are definitely not a wimp. You are human. For many who suffer from RSD, this chronically painful condition is invisible, as many chronically painful conditions are. Please do not feel bad, or be ashamed, that your medication improves your quality of life. That is a very good thing! You may find it necessary to take breaks while you are entertaining next week. Again, don't feel bad about that. Make it known ahead of time, and include it in your planning. I'm hoping that your medication continues to provide you with excellent relief, and that you continue to be able to sleep. Have a great time next week! Take care of yourself, and God bless you! Bussey

Re: new medicationHi Christine ~
Congratulations! I know the feeling of getting such relief, much like I got when I was prescribed Nortyptiline because it took away the burning, stabbing pain from my left arm, wrist and hands. I just want to caution you to please not "over-do" as far as doing too much on the area that is effected. Maybe this won't happen to you but when I got the relief I was sooooooo happy and the first thing I did was clean my house and I mean good! Did things I hadn't been able to do and I paid dearly for that mistake. I exacerbated the RSD and then it put me down hard. I just don't want that to happen to you, especially with your company there. I am soo happy you have been feeling so great and mostly because you got to sleep all night long. I haven't been able to sleep all night since well, I honestly don't know when. Just keep in the back of your mind that when the RSD is exacerbated it rears its ugly head with a vengeance and then it takes longer to rid the pain. Have a great time with your company, just please be careful. Take care and have some fun! Terri
Re: new medicationHey Terri, you know you are absolutely right I know I have been doing things I defnately should NOT be doing and then I remember but I am finding it hard to stop sometimes I am so used to be active and I want to clean and do laundry (mow the grasss) I am still doing good however I am notining that my arm is beginning to hurrt a little today.
I am not going to do anything else today really and look forward to me company I am so excited, Thank you so much and I hope soon you get some relief Christine
Re: new medicationHey Christine ~ Yes, I learned the hard way when I found how well the Nortryptoline worked for me. I was soooo excited, like you are and I also am a perfectionist and very active and then I mopped the floor of all things, because that was the last thing I had to do, lol, and then even though I wore gloves the tips of all 10 fingers started to hurt and become very sensitive and before you know it, they were all on fire and deep, deep aching in my hands and wrists, and entire arm had exacerbated the RSD so badly. It hung on for ever 8 days by the time my hands started feeling better. SO REALLY Christine, STOP! I know how you feel and it feels great to get things done but please trust me, from this point further, if your hands are starting to hurt a little NOW, start to baby them NOW. I sure don't want you to have to go through what I did.
I am thrilled you have company to look forward to and that you are soo happy about it and feel good. Not trying to rain on your parade as this may be the very drug for you, but just do a little, teeny weeny bit at a time. Keep the positive outlook, just play on the safe side! Have fun and let me know how you do when you can, Terri
